Namaste! I am an Indian classical-fusion artist, inspired by the rich traditions of Indian patachitra, miniature, and Madhubani styles. I find joy in delving into intricate details that allow me to lose myself in the creative process for days on end.
While my primary medium is the holy-watercolor, I’m not afraid to explore the uncharted territories of acrylics. Recently, I’ve dipped my toes into the digital art realm, embracing the new challenges it presents as I navigate this exciting frontier.
Influence
Pieter Bruegel the Elder and the Dutch and Flemish Renaissance art movement have been profound wellsprings of inspiration for me. Among his many masterpieces, “Children’s Games” from 1560 holds a special place as one of my all-time favourites. Furthermore, the pioneering surrealist Hieronymus Bosch stands as a precursor to surrealism, leaving an indelible mark on my artistic perspective.
In my artistic journey, I aspire to channel the tumultuous beauty of Indian classical style and the pre-surrealistic movement. My ultimate goal is to infuse these influences with the bold confidence characteristic of surrealism. Through my work, I hope to capture the essence of chaos, seamlessly blending the intricate patterns of Indian classical art with the dreamlike and provocative nature of surrealist aesthetics.
Story
My journey as an artist began in the coastal village of Kota, Karnataka, India, where my father and aunt, armed with limited resources and even less time, revelled in the world of art. Their passion ignited my own, and at the age of 10, Lokesh Acharya became my first guru. Drishya School of Arts, Udupi, introduced me to the dedicated mentorship of Ramesh Rao, Ganesh Naik, and Shailesh Kotyan, who fueled my artistic interests and honed my skills with unwavering passion. As I embark on this artistic journey, I am filled with gratitude for the mentors who have shaped my path and the countless possibilities that lie ahead.
Join me in savouring the flow of art and the unpredictable destinations it may lead to.
